Musical Theatre Academy @Naz
provides students with education from seasoned professionals with musical theatre experience all over the world.
Our goal as theatre educators is to contribute to the social, emotional, intellectual, and cultural development of each child. By creating an environment with clear expectations of respect and communication, we provide a safe space for students to share their ideas, understand critique, and build their artistry. Theatre education has proven to be a valuable component in creating well-rounded, thoughtful members of society. The study of theatre opens young minds to larger issues of the human condition and our world as a whole. Storytelling is something we all have in common.

"One of the things that was astonishing to me as a parent was that while having my son take classes with Heidi from age 5-7, I learned more strategies about how to parent. I learned more about how my child felt and thought and learned. I went in expecting an enrichment class and came out with so much more."
-Angela, Parent
"It’s hard to put into words the magic that is Miss Heidi. She infuses all of her classes and interactions with the kids with more love and encouragement than seems possible for one human to bestow. She sees all of the boundless potential in each and every child and lovingly and tirelessly works to nurture and grow this potential. Heidi is such an incredible and precious gift to the music theatre community. I feel incredibly fortunate that our daughter had the opportunity to develop and foster her love of theatre in Heidi’s classes, both group theatre lessons and private voice lessons."
-Claire, Parent
“One of the first things I noticed about Rich and Nicolette as professors was their aptitude for making things happen. They imbue such a positive energy into their work, which not only provides a safe and comfortable environment for students to learn, but also challenges the student to become better. Under the tutelage of this "dream team" of professors, not only was I able to accomplish my goals and reach my dreams, but I was able to expand on those goals and dreams to achieve feats even higher than I thought possible.”
-Jaden, Student
"Our two sons couldn’t be more opposite. One is a natural performer while the other is very shy. Correction: he was very shy. Watching his brother’s opportunities, he asked to go to “Miss Heidi camp” too. The experience gave him so much confidence on, but especially off the stage. The change in him is remarkable. And as for our older son, he refined his singing, acting, and dancing skills in her classes and keeps applying what he learns to his other productions.”
-Jennifer, Parent
“Miss Heidi’s class is truly the sparkle of the city! We have had the most wonderful experience with Miss Heidi. She has an incredible ability to bring out creativity and confidence in every student. Our child attended her class from the age of 4 to 6, and during that time, not only developed a love for singing and dancing, but also gained valuable skills in communication, teamwork, and self-expression. Miss Heidi creates a warm, supportive environment where each student feels seen and appreciated.”
-Abby, Parent
“Rich fostered my love of musical theatre from a young age, cultivating not only my skill set, but my taste as well. Right from the beginning he knew which books I should read, which cast recordings to listen to, and how I should conduct myself in the rehearsal room. Rich encourages and demands theatre as a team sport, and his outlook on training young artists is invaluable. Rich taught me how to be a better performer, artist, & human.”
-Jackson, Student
"Rich has been such an important figure in my education, career, and life in general! We need a safe space to create art. Rich always manages to make everyone feel safe to try new things and take the artistic risks that unlock our full potential as artists. All around, Rich is just amazing! Nicolette is a firecracker that brings out the fire in each artist she teaches. She just knows exactly how to bring out the best of her students while allowing them to define their own meaning of artistry. She helped me find myself as an artist, and I couldn’t be more thankful!"
-Claire, Student
“Four of my children were fortunate enough to take classes from Miss Heidi, and our experiences will forever be some of our best family memories! As you will soon learn, the JOY of theatre continues long after class time ends, with hours of creative play-- recreating scenes, dances, and costumes at home. Children will learn life skills such as speaking confidently, self-responsibility, and building a community within a group. Miss Heidi has a unique way of connecting individually with students and bringing out the best in them. As a parent, there is nothing better than knowing your child is in a positive environment learning, growing, and having an absolute blast!”
-Tara, Parent
"Rich always made any singing lesson, rehearsal, or coaching feel like a completely safe space to discover and learn. After years of his teaching, he offered to help me with my applications for college auditions. He was so helpful and gave so much of his time to help me do the best I could. I know that even now I can reach to him for help, and I still do!"

Our Values
Theatre is an art form that builds community. Students, teachers, and parents work together to bring out the best in each other, finding success through a philosophy of cooperation and caring.
The process of skill-building in Musical Theatre requires many years to master. Learning the responsibilities of the rehearsal process frees students to focus on the joy of creating something together. Each class and final performance will reflect the honor and joy we bring to the process, giving each stage of development the care that it deserves.
We strive to offer a positive, safe atmosphere that encourages students to play! As a community of artists, we value student ideas, student leadership, and student input in the casting and creation process. Participation in theatre arts promotes teamwork, problem-solving, empathy, and persistence.
At Music Theatre Academy @ Naz, we believe in healthy habits for their voices, bodies, and minds. Our pedagogy is built on the vocal science behind healthy musical theatre vocal production, the Meisner Acting Technique, and choreographic foundations that are appropriate for each level of storytelling.
